An Oddly Shaped Pearl pt.3

How does a pearl come to be? What does it mean to be shaped in the dark? What is revealed as you emerge into the light? Spherical pearls grow in the oyster’s soft tissue, allowing them to form unencumbered. The oddly-shaped, or baroque, pearl is formed by its encounters with resistance throughout its process of growth. The third and final chapter of An Oddly Shaped Pearl holds space for an experience of baroqueness in a spherical world, shining a light on the sacred and complex nature of the outsider.
